The ESMO Conference on Sarcoma and GIST which took place on 9-10 March 2010 in Milan was a great success, in the words of one of the participants “Thank you from those of us supporting the advancement of sarcoma treatment for holding this exciting and important event”.

390 participants from around the globe gathered to hear presentations from leading experts, representing the main institutions worldwide dealing with these rare cancers, Co-Chaired by Paolo G. Casali, A. Paolo Dei Tos and Jean-Yves Blay.

A comprehensive overview of current medical therapy of soft tissue sarcomas and GIST was given with a focus on its molecular and pathological bases. The objective of the Conference was to give a perspective on where we currently are in medical treatment and where we are about to go, filtered across the most recent advances in molecular biology.
