What does a patient travel grant cover?
Aravel grant helps to cover travel, hotel, and registration expenses and are based primarily on an individual’s financial need, current and previous advocacy activities. Each grant will reimburse travel and accommodation costs up to a maximum of 1000 EUR.
In this regard please carefully read ESMO’s patient travel grant reimbursement policy.
How will the applications be evaluated?
Please be informed that the individual applications will be evaluated, and the grants accordingly allocated. Due to the large number of applications, the process can take up to a few weeks. Once your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation email advising you to proceed in arranging your travel and accommodation.

What will be the process?
Please note that patient travel grants are limited in number and that the deadline for receipt of applications is 8 September. Successful applicants will be notified by 22 September. In case of a very high level of applications, participants will be added to a waiting list and their applications processed at a later stage, if feasible.
When I will be reimbursed?
Reimbursements will be processed after the ESMO congress, and upon receipt of the online reimbursement application form accompanied by readable original bills/invoices
What are my responsibilities by accepting a travel grant?
By applying for and accepting a travel grant, recipients agree to attend the entire Patient Advocacy Track sessions in person and to provide, if requested, a brief testimonial after the event that can be posted on the ESMO website.
