Media registration
ESMO welcomes media interested in obtaining information and reporting on cancer issues. Registration is free to bona fide journalists on presentation of a letter of assignment and a valid press card. Media representatives are required to observe and abide by the ESMO 2018 Media Policy which applies to all ESMO events.Media registration in advance is strongly recommended although on-site registration will still be possible.
Third-party media activities
Media activities initiated by third parties during or in connection with ESMO 2018, including, but not limited to:
- Meetings such as press conferences, media briefings, educational sessions for media representatives, as well as
- PR activities, such as press releases, news, articles, interviews, etc.
are subject to the ESMO 2018 Policy on Third-Party Media Activities. This policy aims to guarantee proper and correct distribution of oncology and cancer-related information to media representatives in connection with the conference.Press events in or outside the congress centre but concomitant with/or during breaks of the scientific programme of ESMO 2018 are subject to ESMO Press Office approval. Please submit your first request to media@esmo.org, a link to a specific form will be shared.
Blackout times
During Blackout times any media activity (press conferences, media briefings, educational sessions for media representatives) initiated by third parties is not allowed.

Publication schedule for accepted abstracts
- Abstracts accepted for presentation at ESMO 2018 as Poster – suffix P or TiP – will be published online via the ESMO website at 00:05 CEST on Tuesday, 9 October 2018.
- Abstracts accepted for presentation at ESMO 2018 as Proffered Paper (oral presentation) or Poster Discussion will be published online via the ESMO website at 12:00 CEST on Friday, 19 October 2018.
- All Late-breaking abstracts will be made public at the start of the official Congress session during which they are presented.
- Abstracts and Late-breaking abstracts selected for inclusion in the ESMO 2018 Press Programme, will be published accordingly to the schedule reported here.
