Integrating science into oncology for a better patient outcome
The annual ESMO Congress is the most prestigious and infuential oncology platform in Europe and is the ideal place to learn about the latest science, network with colleagues and keep pace with today’s rapid developments in cancer research.
ESMO 2017 will be held in Madrid, Spain, from 8-12 September 2017, and it gives us great pleasure to tell you that it will take place in partnership with the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR).
Collaborations such as this enrich us all by facilitating an integrated approach to cancer treatment and care, and ESMO 2017 will bring together researchers and clinicians to help bridge the gap between research innovation and clinical implementation.
Our collaboration is vital in an era requiring a deep understanding of the molecular biology underlying the development of cancer. Integrating science into oncology for better a patient outcome is the over-arching goal of ESMO 2017 and efforts to achieve this important objective will be led by Scientific Co-Chairs Prof. Alberto Sobrero from ESMO and Prof. Richard Marais from the EACR.
ESMO 2017 will be a truly integrated congress leveraging the expertise of the entire scientific committee and faculty speakers, with delegates benefiting from a wealth of knowledge across professions and tumour types.
Together, ESMO and the EACR represent the interests of more than 23,000 oncology professionals including clinicians, researchers, scientists and patient advocates, alongside colleagues from many other disciplines.
More than 20,000 professionals are expected to attend ESMO 2017 and we are looking forward to welcoming more colleagues than ever before from the basic science community to help broaden our knowledge of specific cellular and molecular changes in the development of cancer.
ESMO and the EACR encourage you to actively participate by submitting your original research in order to stimulate the important collaborative discussions that advance oncology, as well as earning your work the recognition and visibility it deserves.
We invite you save the date for ESMO 2017, 8-12 September, Madrid, and look forward to seeing you there.
