ELCC 2018: Information for Media Representatives

Media registration

ESMO welcomes media interested in obtaining information and reporting on cancer issues. Registration is free to bona fide journalists on presentation of a letter of assignment and a valid press card.Media representatives are required to observe and abide by the ELCC Media Policy which applies to all ESMO events.

Publication of accepted abstracts

All accepted abstracts will be published online only in the ELCC 2018 Abstract Book, as a supplement of the official IASLC journal, Journal of Thoracic Oncology.

Abstracts accepted for presentation during ELCC 2018 (Proffered Paper, Poster Discussion and Poster) and for publication in the ELCC 2018 Abstract Book, will be published online on the ELCC 2018 Website, at 12:00 CEST (Central European Summer Time) on 4 April 2018.

Late-breaking abstracts accepted for presentation during ELCC 2018 will be made public at the beginning of the scientific session during which they are presented.

ELCC 2018 press programme

All abstracts selected for the ELCC 2018 press programme, will be accompanied by a press release distributed accordingly with the following embargo lift:

Third-party media activities

Media activities initiated by third parties during or in connection with ELCC 2018, including, but not limited to:

• Meetings such as press conferences, media briefings, educational sessions for media representatives, as well as
• PR activities, such as press releases, news, articles, interviews, etc.

are subject to the  ELCC Policy on Third-Party Media Activities. This policy aims to guarantee proper and correct distribution of oncology and cancer-related information to media representatives in connection with the conference.

Press events in or outside the congress centre but concomitant with/or during breaks of the scientific programme of ELCC 2018 are subject to ELCC Press Office approval.    Please submit your first request through the following form.

Blackout times

During Blackout times any media activity initiated by third parties is not allowed.
