European School of Oncology (ESO)
The European School of Oncology (ESO) was founded in 1982, with the aim of contributing to the reduction of deaths from cancer due to late diagnosis and/or inadequate treatment. Leading oncologists from around the world played a key role in founding of the School. Now, after more than 35 years, ESO is the oldest and most structured organisation exclusively dedicated to increasing the knowledge of health professionals in all fields of cancer medicine, under the auspices of an international scientific committee and advisory board.

European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO)
ESTRO is a non-profit and scientific organisation that since 1980 advances radiation oncology in order to improve patients’ care in the multimodality treatment of cancer. With more than 7,000 members all over the world, ESTRO supports all the radiation oncology professionals and the wider oncology community in their daily practice and career development. European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS)
ESTS is the largest international general thoracic surgery organisation with more than 1600 members from all continents. The society’s mission is to improve quality in the specialty, from clinical and surgical management of patients to education, training and credentialing of thoracic surgeons worldwide. The 26th European Conference on General Thoracic Surgery will be held on 27-30 May 2018 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The outstanding program includes lectures by international speakers, joint sessions with international scientific societies, sunrise academy and hosts the Postgraduate Symposium with the Americas, Asia and Europe competing for the Masters Cup. A Symposium for Nurses provides a full day of specialised and research based nursing in an international perspective.

European Thoracic Oncology Platform (ETOP)
ETOP is a not-for-profit organization promoting academic clinical research and the exchange of ideas in the field of thoracic oncology. It sponsors and manages an increasing number of translational research projects and clinical trials with an emphasis on advancing the knowledge in thoracic malignancies. ETOP comprises more than 50 collaborative groups and institutions from all over Europe and beyond.
The specific aims of ETOP are:
- To serve as a meeting platform for European study groups and institutions engaged in research on thoracic malignancies
- To foster intergroup studies among institutions and study groups across Europe and beyond
- To sponsor and/or perform own studies and clinical trials
- To foster scientific exchange on clinical and translational research among interested parties and beyond
- To provide knowledge to partners in the field
International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC)
The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is the only global organization dedicated to the study of lung cancer.
Founded in 1974, the association's membership includes nearly 5,500 lung cancer specialists in 80 countries.
IASLC members work to enhance the understanding of lung cancer among scientists, members of the medical community and the public. IASLC publishes the Journal of Thoracic Oncology, a valuable resource for medical specialists and scientists who focus on the detection, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
