The ESMO Summit Africa 2025 is a three-day educational event with presentations focused on several key disease sites.
Created for oncology professionals in Africa by international and local key opinion leaders, the Summit will put into context the most significant treatment advances presented at the ESMO annual Congress.
Summit objectives
- To provide the oncology community with a summary of the most significant treatment advances presented at the ESMO Congresses
- To review the current standard of care for key malignancies from a local and international perspective
- To discuss the current controversies in the management of specific cancers
Target audience
Medical and clinical oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, students, fellows, residents, general practitioners in oncology and other oncology healthcare professionals.

*ESMO members must be under 40 and in training to qualify for this fee.
**Medical and science undergraduate students can benefit from free ESMO membership.
Accreditation
The programme of this event will be accredited with ESMO-MORA points. Recertification is necessary for medical oncologists to remain professionally certified by ESMO. Recertification guarantees that a certified medical oncologist has continued to update her/his knowledge and continues to possess the necessary skills and standards for the practice of medical oncology. The programme of this event will be accredited with CPD points by the University of Pretoria, for South African Healthcare Practitioners.

During the event, ESMO will apply health and safety protocols according to the latest local authority guidelines and regulations.
In general, ESMO recommends:
- to apply health precautions and measures according to formal guidance and personal medical history
- to stay up to date with the vaccination status
- to perform a Rapid Antigen Test and wear a mask in case of symptoms
Hand sanitisers will be available throughout the venue; the use of mask is at own discretion in the absence of symptoms.
