History
The hospital of Nephrology "Carol Davila" consists of two buildings: one is older (historical monument 1894) and the other is more recent.
Profile
The hospital has the following Departments and Compartments: Nephrology I, Nephrology II, General surgery, Anesthesia and intensive care, Urology, Allergology, and Medical oncology with a palliative care outpatients compartment.
Specialitites
In the hospital, kidney pathology is treated and general surgery is performed - including cancers (cancers of the digestive sphere, lung cancers, breast cancers, gynecological cancers). The oncology department deals with these oncological diseases from the point of view of medical oncology and palliative care. We have collaborations with other hospitals for radiotherapy.
Palliative and Supportive Care
The medical oncology and palliative care department treats the oncological pathology of the hospital. Thus, palliative chemotherapy, symptomatic treatment, recovery, psychological and spiritual consultation are all administered.
Sporadic cases that require specific end-of-life treatment are also treated by the specialist in the ward where the patient is admitted and the oncologist with competence in palliative care.
