The Department of Palliative Medicine was established in February 2020 and having more than 18,000 patients registered, it caters to the needs of large number of patients from nearby states too.
It offers a highly integrated approach to the management of both common and rare cancers along with departments like Radiation oncology, Medical oncology, Surgery, Pathology, Radiology and ENT who work closely under the same roof for multidisciplinary management of cancer patients.
The department provides high quality holistic care along with and continuous academic activities to keep up to date with the latest in the field of palliative care.
The National Medical Commission has also approved two post graduate seats per year from 2021 , making it one of the few centers in the country running MD Palliative Medicine course.

Palliative and Supportive Care
Domiciliary Support
The department undertakes regular Home Care Visits for patients suffering from end stage illness and/or patients who are unable to come to the health care facility. The visits are undertaken by trained faculty and nursing staff who are accompanied by a seasoned social worker.
Tumour Board
Tumour Board meetings are regularly organised and attended by palliative care experts, medical, surgical and radiation oncologists. Such meeting is organised twice a week.
