History
MPMMCC and HBCH, Varanasi are units of Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai which is a Grant-in-Aid institution under Department of Atomic energy, Government of India. Both campuses are situated in Varanasi city by a distance of 9 kilometres and dedicated for comprehensive yet affordable cancer care to the patients in entire Northern and Eastern India since early 2019.
All Haematological and Paediatric Malignancies are seen at HBCH. It also has Bone Marrow Transplant facilities. MPMMCC is dedicated for adult/ geriatric solid tumours. We have state of art infrastructures with highly skilled professionals dedicated for academics, research and service of cancer patients.
Profile
Paediatric Palliative Medicine Department (HBCH campus) and Adult and Geriatric Palliative Medicine Department (MPMMCC Campus) provide OPD/ IPD/Respite/Emergency/Day care facilities daily. Apart from these, we have dedicated Comprehensive pain clinic, Lymphedema clinic, Stoma and wound clinic, Tele-consultation clinic, psychological counselling and bereavement clinic, rehabilitation clinic, Geriatric clinic, community services and home visit programme.
We are integral part of each Disease Management Group (DMG) of Neuro/ Head and Neck/ Breast and Thoracic/ Upper GI/ Lower GI/ Hepato Biliary/ Gynae/Genito-Urinary/ Bone and Soft tissue/ Heamat-Oncology/ Paediatric and Geriatric Oncology.
Our weekly academic schedule includes - journal club, complex case presentation, team meeting and weekly audit, grand clinical rounds, joint clinical meet with each DMG. We conduct regular CMEs, Workshops, National and International conferences. Many clinical trials are undergoing within our department.
We have full time post graduate fellowship courses in palliative medicine and palliative nursing.
