Specialities
The department of Haematology/Medical oncology is part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Ostbayern (CCCO). It has two wards with a special unit for high dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation and a ward for patients, who receive more intense tumour-specific therapies or suffer from complications. In the interdisciplinary center for medical tumor therapy, patients receive the complete spectrum of modern antitumor therapy. This also includes a broad range of trials and a comprehensive program of supportive treatments. An early clinical trail unit and a molecular tumor board complete the range of services at the highest level.
Palliative and Supportive Care
At the UKR, the Center for Palliative Care offers the full spectrum of specialized palliative care for all palliative patients. A palliative care unit, a palliative care service, an outpatient specialized palliative care team (SAPV) and an university outpatient clinic provide highly professional and empathetic palliative care around the clock. Through close cooperation with the various areas of oncology, we comprehensively realize a needs-based access to palliative care, also parallel to oncological treatment. And with a special program for relatives, a truly comprehensive palliative care can be offered to all those who need it.
