Aster CMI hospital was launched in August 2016. We believe in offering holistic treatment to every patient in a non-hospital-like environment. We are one of the top specialty hospitals in Bangalore with contemporary state-of-the-art facilities accommodating close to 500 beds, offering comprehensive primary care to quaternary care services.
Profile
The pain and palliative care department provides comprehensive care in an interdisciplinary manner. The department consists of three palliative physicians, two clinical nurse specialists, one nurse, one coordinator, in addition to, a psycho-oncology team, onco-nutritionist, clinical pharmacologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech and swallowing therapist, rehabilitation specialist and a yoga therapist.
Specialities
Aster CMI has a comprehensive cancer care centre providing adult and paediatric services. We offer medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, head and neck oncology, GI oncology, bone marrow transplantation and 24/7 emergency services for our cohort of patients. In addition, we also offer comprehensive primary care to quaternary care services within our centres of excellence in cardiac sciences, neurosciences, gastroenterology sciences, surgery and allied specialties, integrated liver care, organ transplantation, urology and nephrology, orthopaedics, women's health, and child and adolescent health.
Palliative and Supportive Care
Our palliative care team at the department of palliative medicine uses the Indian interdisciplinary and acute palliative care model. All the team members are professionals and have more than twenty years of combined experience. The team practices ethical and evidence-based palliative medicine. Our focus is on caring for patients from the moment they are diagnosed with a chronic life-limiting illness throughout the duration of the disease. We also provide home care and bereavement services.
