History
The ADRZ originated from a merger between the Stichting Oosterschelde ziekenhuizen and Stichting ziekenhuis Walcheren in 2010.
The main hospital is situated in Goes. There's an outpatient clinic in Vlissingen and Zierikzee.
We want to provide good care close to home.
We are closely cooperating with the Erasmus medical centre in Rotterdam when academic treatment is necessary.
Profile
Our department is a combined department of Medical Oncology and Hematology.
We treat the total spectrum of malignancies. We participate in several clinical studies.
We also provide the post bonemarrow transplatation care in collaboration with the Erasmus Medical centre in Rotterdam.
Specialities
Our areas of specialisation are breast cancer care, where we work closely together with our breast cancer surgeons, plastic surgeons, and dedicated radiologists in our breast cancer clinic.
Other areas of specialisation are, palliative care and we have a special interest in cancer and nutrition in cooperation with the University of Wageningen. We also specialise in geriatric oncology and frailty intervention.
Palliative and Supportive Care
We have a good functioning palliative consultative team in the hospital with the possibility of bedside consulting. There is 24/7 access to palliative care consulting by doctors dedicated to palliative care.
We have a good collaboration with the general practitioners who provide palliative care at home. Every week we have a multidisciplinary meeting were we discuss palliative patients and their needs, admitted to the hospital as well as patients who are at home.
