- Trained oncologists in search of acquisition of diagnostic, therapeutic and interpersonal skills for optimal assessment care of older patients with cancer
- Trained geriatricians in search of practical knowledge on the treatment for cancers frequently encountered in aged patients, their main adverse effects, their impact on quality of life and therapeutic alternatives for patients deemed fragile

It federates 14 facilities, including three predominantly general facilities providing emergency, medical and surgical services in a wide range of disciplines, seven specialist facilities and four geriatric facilities.

Centre Hospitalier Lyon Sud offers a unique oncogeriatric ward dedicated to care and clinical research integrated into a rehabilitation geriatric hospital, working in close relationship with cancer medical and surgical units.
Centre Hospitalier Lyon-Sud has excellent services, particularly in the fields of cancerology, hematology, nutrition, dermatology as well as in multiple surgical specialties such as orthopedics or digestive surgery. It is a reference establishment for emergency care, pregnancy care and older patient care. It owns last generation equipment (surgical robot, particle accelerator, MRI, scans...) and it hosts the radiotherapy service of Hospices Civils de Lyon, which has been recently renovated and has the best devices.
