Myrto Moutafi

Myrto Moutafi is a Medical Oncologist Fellow in Attikon University Hospital, reference center for Head and Neck Cancer, Athens, GR, with experience in cancer research and patient care. Currently serving on the ESMO YOC and HNCIG committee, she has been deeply involved in advancing the field. During her Ph.D. she has contributed to groundbreaking studies in biomarkers of resistance to immunotherapy and clinical trial management. Myrto is eager to leverage her skills in transformative treatments and advocacy for diversity in STEM to drive innovation in oncology.
Tell us a bit about your career so far. What is your current activity?
Medical Oncology Fellow.
Main fields of interest: Head and Neck, breast and lung cancer, immunooncology, translational research, biomarkers, biostatistics.
Future plans in terms of training/evolvement
Becoming a physician-scientist.
What does your involvement with ESMO and the Young Oncologists Committee (YOC) mean to you?
I expect my involvement with ESMO and Young Oncologists Committee (YOC) to strengthen my oncology skills and expertise through communication with young oncologists from different institutes sharing new experiences and knowledge.
Do you have some good advice you would like to share with your international colleagues?
Take into account different backgrounds when communicating with each other.
