Beginning on 1 January 2015, the Disclosure Code of the of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) requires pharmaceutical companies that are members of EFPIA or of an EFPIA member association to track and publicly disclose payments and other transfers of value made to healthcare professionals and healthcare organisations in certain categories.
The first annual disclosures will be made by end-June 2016 and include information about payments and transfers of value made in 2015. Depending on the country, the reported information will be made available for a duration of three years on company websites or on national government body or industry association online platforms.
The Code will be implemented in 33 European countries where EFPIA has national member associations: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine, United Kingdom.
There may also be pharmaceutical industry associations and companies that are not EFPIA members but decide to voluntarily implement the Disclosure Code.
