Tiziana Pierini got her Master Degree in Medical Biotechnology cum laude, in 2012, at the University of Perugia (Italy) and achieved the specialization in Clinical Pathology cum laude, in 2017, at the University “La Sapienza” of Rome (Italy).
Currently, she is a PhD student in Biotechnologies in human bone marrow transplantation, at the University of Perugia (Italy), and is running a project on “the application of genomics to pediatric neoplasms for advances in diagnosis and understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms”.
During the course of the graduated school, she worked for the diagnostic characterization of T-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemias, soft tissue and Central Nervous System Tumours in adult and pediatric patients, at the Molecular Laboratory of the Research Center in Hematology and Oncology (CREO), University and A.O. of Perugia (Italy).
She received a grant from Regione Umbria (POR UMBRIA FSE 2007-2013) for the research project “Integrated application of cytogenetic-molecular methods for the genomic characterization of high degree tumors in pediatric patients” (2013) and a prize, from the Italian Society of Experimental Hematology (SIES), for the project “Integrated molecular-cytogenetic approach for the genetic classification of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia” (2018).
She is a member of the Italian Society of Experimental Hematology (SIES) and of the Italian Group of Neuropatology (GINP).
Dr. Pierini has been invited for an oral communication at the SIES National Congress (2012), is the author of 7 abstracts presented in International/National Congresses, and of 8 indexed scientific papers.
