Sjoukje Oosting

Sjoukje Oosting (MD, PhD) studied medicine between 1994 and 2000 at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and finalised specialisation in internal medicine and medical oncology in 2008. Since then, she is member of staff at the Department of Medical Oncology at the University Medical Center Groningen. Her areas of expertise are treatment of head and neck cancer and genitourinary cancers, as well as molecular imaging. In 2014, she defended her thesis entitled “Molecular imaging to guide clinical decisions on targeted treatment of solid tumors”. She has been the principal investigator of more than 20 clinical trials, including investigator initiated studies. Dr. Oosting is member of the ESMO-Magnitude of Clinical Benefit Scale Extended Working Group and was involved in the development of the Quality of Life checklist. She is currently coordinator of the ESMO Faculty for Head and Neck Cancer. Dr. Oosting serves as a member of the Steering Committee of the EORTC Head and Neck Cancer Group since 2009, currently in the role of Secretary. She has authored around 70 peer reviewed papers.
