Nicolas Philippou

Nicolas Philippou, is the General Manager of the Cyprus Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (PASYKAF) since January 2010. The Association is a voluntary, non-governmental patients’ association, that also provides professional supportive and home based Palliative Care Services to more than 5000 patients and family members across Cyprus. In addition the association provides Psychosocial Support Services, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Services.
PASYKAF is a member of international and European cancer organizations such as the International Union Against Cancer – UICC, the European Cancer Patients Coalition (ECPC), the European Cancer Leagues – ECL, the European Association for Palliative Care – EAPC, and others.
In 2014, Nicolas was elected as the General Secretary of the Pancyprian Federation of Associations of Patients and Friends (POSPF) who’s mission is to ensure that patients in Cyprus have access to holistic, patient-centered, equitable and social healthcare.
The last seven years he has been actively involved in the fight to control cancer through the promotion of prevention and early detection of cancer in the general public and the improvement of quality of life of all cancer patients and their relatives. He is an active member of ECPC and in 2016 he has been elected at the Audit Committee of the organization. He is also invited and participates at the World Cancer Leaders' Summit of UICC. Nicolas has participated as a speaker and panelist at many cancer and patient related conferences.
Nicolas, holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Cyprus and an MBA with specialization in Finance from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. From 2001 to 2010 he has worked in the field of Venture Capital and Business Incubation of High Tech Innovative Companies, as well as two large companies with operations in Cyprus and abroad.
He is married with three children.
