Maria Mitsogianni received her medical degree and obtained her MSc in thoracic oncology and PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens. She underwent residency training in general surgery, internal medicine as well as hematology, oncology and palliative care in Germany (Universitätsmedizin Klinikum Oldenburg, Johanniter Krankenhaus Rheinhausen and Marien Hospital Düsseldorf respectively). After returning to Athens, she has worked in specialized oncology units in Sotiria and Agioi Anargyroi hospitals and completed successfully the two-year training of the Hellenic Academy of Oncology.

Since 2022, she has been working as a medical oncologist in the 4th Department of Medical Oncology in Hygeia Hospital in Athens, Greece.
