Dr Ilaria Colombo is a medical oncologist specialized in the treatment of gynaecological malignancies and in early phase clinical trials for solid tumors.

She graduated in Medicine at University of Milan, Italy where she also obtained a post-graduate degree in Medical Oncology. In 2014, she obtained a master’s degree in ‘Methodology of Clinical Research’ from the University of Parma, Italy.

After establishing her clinical expertise in Italy, she improved her skills in clinical research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto, Canada focusing on new drugs development for gynecological malignancies.

Since 2018, she is a senior consultant at the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland (IOSI), Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC), Bellinzona, Switzerland. Currently, she is the Lead of the Gynaecological tema and of the Phase 1 Program at the IOSI.  Since 2023 she has been appointed as Chair of the IOSI Clinical Research Unit. She is involved as Principal and co-Investigator in many national and international clinical trials.

She is a Faculty Member of the ESMO Gynaecological Group and Vice President of the Gynecological Project Group of the Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK).
