Dr. Gábor Lakatos is currently working as a medical oncologist at the Egyesített Szent István és Szent László Hospital in Budapest, Hungary.

Dr. Lakatos was born in 1979 in Veszprém. He studied medicine in Budapest at the Semmelweis University, where he graduated in 2005. He completed his postgraduate training in Budapest, at the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine, Semmelweis University where he had been working between 2005 and 2010. He is specialised in internal medicine and medical oncology.

Dr. Lakatos is involved in clinical research focused on gastrointestinal disorders and he is an active member of the Hungarian Pancreatic Study Group. He is experienced in international clinical trials and he is currently an investigator in five Phase 3 trials.

Dr. Lakatos has been a member of ESMO since 2012 and is currently joining the ESMO Practising Oncologists Working Group. He has also served in the following organisations: the Hungarian Society of Gastroenterology, the Hungarian Association of Young Gastroenterologist's (FIGAMU) and the Hungarian Society of Clinical Oncology.
