Ewan Brown

Dr Ewan Brown has been a Consultant in Medical Oncology at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, U.K. since 2009. He undertook his medical oncology training in Edinburgh, UK, completed a Clinical Fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada and then earned a PhD in translational melanoma research with the University of Edinburgh. In 2019 he completed an MPH with the University of Edinburgh with a particular focus on Global Non-Communicable Diseases. His main clinical interests are colorectal cancer, melanoma, clinical trials and global oncology.
Dr Brown has been U.K. Chief Investigator and local Principal Investigator for several clinical trials in melanoma. He is Chair of the Melanoma SIGN Guideline group, Chair of the South-East Scotland Skin Cancer Group and Clinical Lead for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Services for South-East Scotland.
Dr Brown also leads the Edinburgh-Malawi Cancer Partnership which was established in 2012, which has been involved in the completion of number of partnership projects with the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Blantyre including the development of multi-disciplinary working, the development of standard treatment protocols and development of ER testing in breast cancer. His work is supported by an NHS Research Scotland Career Researcher Award (2013-2021).
Dr Brown is an ESMO member and a member of the ESMO Global Policy Committee.
