Dr Deborah Mukherji completed her advanced specialty training in medical oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, and was awarded a postgraduate diploma in oncology from the Institute of Cancer Research, University of London, UK, in 2011.

Dr Mukherji joined the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, UK, specialising in clinical research and drug development with a focus on prostate cancer. She became part of the Faculty of the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, in June 2012 and Clemenceau Medical Center, Dubai, UAE, as a consultant medical oncologist in October 2022. She currently serves as a Faculty member for genitourinary tumours (prostate) of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and is a panel member for the Advanced Prostate Cancer Consensus Conference (APCCC).

Dr Mukherji has an interest in Global Oncology Education and is a member of the Steering Committee for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) IDEA award; she sits on the editorial board of eCancer and the Journal of Cancer Policy. She is a commissioner for The Lancet Commission on Women and Cancer, an associate editor for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) journal, Cancer Research Communications, and a member of the ESMO Women for Oncology Committee.
She has joined the ESMO Educational Publications Working Group in January 2024.
