David Perol
David Pérol, MD, obtained his medical degree specializing in Epidemiology & Public Health in 1999, the same year as a Master (D.E.A) in Epidemiology & Clinical research. He holds 4 additional university degrees [Biostatistics (Paris VI - 1998); Pharmacoepidemiology (Bordeaux II - 1998); Clinical oncology (Paris XI - 2000); Tobacco and smoking cessation (Lyon I - 2001)].
He teaches clinical research at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the University Claude Bernard Lyon I, and co-authored more than 400 scientific communications, including more than 190 peer-reviewed articles and 4 book chapters in the field of clinical research in oncology (H-index=47).
Dr Pérol is the current chairman of the French Real-World Evidence "ESME" (Epidemiological Strategy and Medical Economics program) scientific committee from UNICANCER. In addition, he is in charge of the Centre Léon Bérard Clinical Research and Biostatistics Department in Lyon. This department (140 staff members) is a coordinating data center for academic research in oncology, providing methodological expertise and statistical support to researchers in applied and translational research (major themes of research: methodology of clinical trials in oncology, real-world evidence).
