Bharti Devnani

Dr Bharti Devnani, MBBS, DNB is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur, India. She is also an adjunct faculty in the Department of Medical education and technology at AIIMS Jodhpur. She holds a post-graduation in Radiotherapy from National Board of Examinations, India and is registered with National Medical Commission, India (erstwhile Medical Council of India) and also cleared ESMO exam in 2019. She is a member of National Academy of Medical Sciences, India.
Her interest areas include Head and Neck Cancers, Breast Cancer, CNS tumours and rare cancers. She has special interest in advanced technologies in radiotherapy including Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) and interstitial brachytherapy. She has been trained in SBRT for spinal tumours at MSKCC, New York under a fellowship programme of Association of Radiation Oncologists of India. She was also an ESMO- Clinical Unit Visit fellow at Humanitas hospital, Milan, Italy where she was trained on SBRT in Gastro-Intestinal malignancies.
She is a chairperson for the committees for preparing national consensus document for management of ‘Melanoma’ and ‘CNS tumours’ and a member of ‘Cancer survivorship’ committee by Indian council of medical research. She is also involved in formulation of Pan-Asian adapted ESMO guidelines for head and neck cancers. Dr Devnani is one of the social media editors of OncoAlert network.
She has written several peer reviewed papers and book chapters, and has presented her research at various international congresses including ASTRO, ESMO and ICC. She has received several awards including ‘Young Scientist International Travel Grant Award’ of Indian Council of Medical Research, ‘International Conference grant’ by Indian Society of Neuro-Oncology, and ‘Foreign Travel Grant’ by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. She has been invited as faculty at meetings of ESMO-Asia, Sabah surgical society, AROI, Oncology forum, Best of SABCS and OncoAlert colloquium.
She is an active member of ESMO and was among the inaugural batch of ESMO-Asia Leaders Generation Programme (2019). She was also awarded a Translational Research Unit Visit Fellowship at AKH, Vienna, Austria. She was one of the collaborators on the ESMO Resilience Task Force survey series assessing the impact of Covid-19 on Oncology professionals. Dr Bharti is currently a member of the ESMO Membership Committee and is a past member of the ESMO Climate Change Task Force.
