Dr. Toss received her Medical Degree (MD) from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2009 and completed her residency in Medical Oncology in 2015. Then, she obtained her PhD in Clinical and experimental Medicine in 2018.
Dr. Toss is Assistant Professor in the Unit of Genetic Oncology of the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. Clinical Research in the Unit includes the epidemiology, biology, diagnosis, and management of Hereditary Cancer Syndromes and Breast Cancer.
The main objective of Dr. Toss’ research is to improve the management and quality of life for young women with mutations in cancer predisposition genes. Her main research projects deal with fertility, premature menopause and sexuality in young BRCA mutation carriers, clinical and molecular characterization of hereditary breast cancer and research protocols for the treatment of breast tumors.
Dr. Toss is one of the founding members of the Italian Working Group on Cancer in Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) and is currently member of ESMO and AIOM.
