Licensed in Medicine and Surgery for the “Universidad Complutense de Madrid” in 1994. Speciality in Medical Oncology (“Hospital Universitario de la Princesa” April/1996‐April/2000), and she obtains her Medical Degree – Doctor in Medicine and Surgery, “CumLaude” at the “Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona”. Prof. Oaknin is the Head of Gynaecologic Cancer Program at Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO). Prof. Oaknin is a faculty member of Gynaecologic Track in ESMO, and Chair Cervical cancer Committee in GCIG, GOG and NCI member.

Her professional career is principally based on the clinical research, and she is the principal investigator of many numbers of clinical studies of Phase I, II and III, both international and national. In addition, she is author of outstanding articles in high impact Journals.
