Dr. Alona Zer is the head of the Department of Medical Oncology at the Rambam Health Care Campus, Haifa, Israel.

After receiving her MD from the Tel-Aviv University, Dr. Zer completed a residency in medical oncology and radiotherapy at the Rabin Medical Center (affiliated to Tel-Aviv University). She subsequently completed two clinical research fellowships at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre / University of Toronto: Thoracic Oncology and Sarcoma (2013-2015), where she focused on KRAS and ALK molecular subsets of NSCLC, and drug development for soft tissue sarcomas.

Dr. Zer is a clinical associate professor at the Technion University and an active member of several societies including ASCO, IASLC (Educational Committee member), ESMO (Faculty member, OncologyPro workgroup member), CTOS, ISCORT and EORTC. She is also the chairperson of the Israeli Sarcoma Oncology Group and the chair of the Oncology Appeal Committee in the Israeli Medical Association (IMA).
