Accelerating Research to Practice

The ESMO Virtual Plenaries are presentations of original scientific data from interventional clinical trials (phase I/II/III) that either shape clinical practice or provide groundbreaking insights in the biology of disease/mechanisms of action of novel therapeutics with robust activity.

  • Original data based on the criteria above must be submitted by independent investigators, in accordance with the ESMO Congress abstract regulations.
  • Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the ESMO Virtual Plenary Review Panel comprising the ESMO President, ESMO President-elect, ESMO Chief Medical Officer, ESMO Congress Scientific Chair(s) and the appropriate Scientific Track Chairs.
  • Accepted abstracts will be granted an oral presentation by the first author, followed by expert perspectives and an interactive panel and audience discussion / Q&A during a live 60-minute session.
  • Accepted abstracts will be published in Annals of Oncology as well as on the Annals of Oncology and ESMO websites.

Enquiries about Virtual Plenary presentation for studies meeting these criteria should be addressed to programme@esmo.org

SB-AACR

In selected Virtual Plenary sessions, ESMO will collaborate with the AACR to identify discussants of clinical and biological perspectives in presented studies.
