Gabor Liposits

Gabor Liposits is a clinical oncologist who graduated from the Medical School, University of Pecs in Hungary in 2006. After completing his training in clinical oncology in Hungary, he has been working in Norway and in Denmark since 2012. He sat the ESMO examination in 2015 and completed the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) Advanced Course in Geriatric Oncology in 2017. From 2018, he has served the Young SIOG government as a member, presented research proposals, and has been an author/co-author of several Young SIOG publications. He also acts as a reviewer for a number of journals (Journal of Geriatric Oncology, Critical Reviews in Hematology and Oncology, Acta Oncologica, The Oncologist).
Since 2017, he has been working at the Western Hospital Trust in Denmark as a senior consultant oncologist and has implemented geriatric oncology screening based on patient reported outcomes measures (PROMs) within the oncology department. In 2020, the Regional Hospital West Jutland was recognised as an ESMO Designated Centre of Integrated Oncology and Palliative Care and Dr Liposits was co-applicant in this process.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Liposits started a PhD at the Department of Oncology, Odense University Hospital and at the Department of Clinical Research at the University of Southern Denmark in September 2020. He is investigating quality of life, biomarkers, prognostic and predictive factors and body composition/sarcopenia in vulnerable older adults with metastatic colorectal cancer receiving chemotherapy.
Since 2021, Dr Liposits has been a member of the ESMO Practising Oncologists Working Group and the ESMO Designated Centres Working Group.
