Smriti Nayan completed her undergraduate medicine studies in 2009 at McMaster University and graduated from the Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the same university in 2014. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Canada. Dr. Nayan has a keen interest in research in the areas of rhinology, head and neck surgery, and paediatric otolaryngology. She is also very involved with medical education both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Smriti Nayan’s supervisors, Michael Gupta and Doron Sommer, have mentored her through several research projects, allowing her the opportunity to present the research at national and international conferences. She is the author of several peer-review published papers and has co-authored two book chapters in the field of Rhinology. In the fall of 2014 she will start her fellowship training in Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base surgery at the Université de Montréal while concurrently pursuing a Masters of Science in Health Science Education at McMaster University.
