University Assistant (Junior Group Leader)

The Medical University of Vienna, Department of Internal Medicine I / Institute of Cancer Research announces the position of University Assistant (Junior Group Leader) in the area of Precision Medicine. As one of the leading university centers in Europe, we offer special promotion of young researchers in scientific research and teaching.

The full time position (40 hours) ends after 6 years. The monthly minimum salary for this post is currently € 3.626,60 gross (14 times per year) and may be increased based on previous experience.

Job requirements: Completed studies of medicine, biology or a similar subject with a doctorate in the field, qualification in research and teaching. The legal requirements for non-EU citizens must be ensured.

Desired additional qualifications:

  • Proven publication record in scientific top journals in the field of cancer research with the focus on translational oncology;
  • Proof of successful and continuous acquisition of competitive third-party funding;
  • Experience in the planning and implementation of research projects;
  • Experience in the guidance and support of employees.
