The successful applicant will have broad knowledge of general internal medicine with experience in the management of cancer patients. The post holder will have good communication skills, the ability to work as a team and to take initiatives and make decisions. The applicant will gain extensive clinical experience working with novel targeted therapies in oncology. Activities will include outpatient clinics, ward rounds, MDT and research meetings and taking part in our clinical research programme including involvement in the management of multicentre phase 1-3 clinical trials.

CHU Liege will open in 2018 an integrated cancer centre. Currently 9 full-time senior medical oncologists and 5 oncologists in training are working in the medical oncology department. Our clinical research unit employs 8 data managers/research nurses. Close collaboration exists with the GIGA-Cancer translational and fundamental cancer research centre located directly in face of the CHU Sart Tilman University Hospital. A phase 1 unit is also available in the hospital.

The successful applicant can either opt for clinical activities combined with research activities including in the lab or for full time clinical activities. Both kinds of candidatures are receivable.

  • Well-developed clinical skills in the assessment and management of oncology patients
  • A commitment to provide high quality clinical care
  • An ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Fluent in French or fluent in English and willing to rapidly learn French
