Guidelines Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Guidelines, Publishing & Online Education Department at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO).

The Guidelines Coordinator vacancy is a full-time position, beginning immediately, based in the ESMO Office in Nice, France. Regular travel will be required, including travel to meetings, events and other ESMO offices approximately once per month (within Europe).

Working within the Guidelines, Publishing & Online Education Department and reporting to the Senior Coordinator: Guidelines, the successful candidate will coordinate the production of specific ESMO guidelines publications from commission to publication. These publications will include Clinical Practice Guidelines, pocket guidelines, consensus guidelines, algorithms, e-updates and slide-sets. All ESMO publications are produced in English and it is critical that the individual is able to review and edit scientific/medical texts in English to a high level.

This role also involves the organisation of specific events for the development of publications, organisation of congress sessions focussing on ESMO guidelines, promotion of ESMO scientific publications to the medical profession during events and providing support to relevant committees and project teams and to the Senior Coordinator: Guidelines and the Scientific Projects Manager.

Suitable applicants should possess the following

Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Higher education qualification in biological sciences or medicine (e.g. degree/nursing qualification)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English: non-native English speakers should provide language certificates
  • Experience of proof-reading and technical/language editing of (scientific/medical) literature
  • Experience of meeting organisation including logistical aspects
  • Project management

Additional Useful Skills

  • Training in S.T.M editorial production
  • Experience of working in a scientific or educational organisation / with the medical profession or for a not-for-profit organisation
  • Communications experience - product promotion/demonstration
  • Experience of working with publishing software (such as Adobe Creative Suite)
