Who can vote?

ESMO Members in good standing (i.e. membership fee paid) are eligible to cast one vote for the candidate of their choice.

Who cannot vote?

Medical and Basic science undergraduate students with ESMO Student membership are not eligible to vote in elections, in accordance with Article 4 of the ESMO Bylaws.
ESMO members, whose membership has expired will not be eligible to vote. To be eligible to vote, membership should be renewed first by logging in to the myESMO area.

How can I vote?

Voting is carried out via an online voting system.  To cast your vote, you should click here to login to your myESMO area and cast your vote. 

Is my vote anonymous?

Yes, all votes are anonymous and it is not possible to detect who members vote for.  We do however, track who has voted or not, to ensure that only one vote is cast per member.  We also collate information about the members who vote for reporting purposes i.e. sex, age, country of work and member type.

How do I know if my vote has been registered?

Once you have cast your vote, you will see in your myESMO area that you have participated in the online election.

Who selects the candidates for ESMO President?

The ESMO Nominating Committee has the mandate to select the candidates to run for the ESMO Presidency. Click here to find out more. 

Will I receive communications about the elections?

Yes, ESMO members in good standing and members whose membership expired recently, will receive email communications throughout the voting period, inviting them to cast their vote.  Please note that as voting is anonymous, you will receive communications throughout the voting period.  Once you have cast your vote, please ignore these messages.
